What to Look For in Extended Stay Facilities

When your work or other circumstances require you to be out of town for several weeks or more, it's nearly impossible to truly feel at home in a hotel. That is why more and more individuals and companies are turning to corporate housing services. Extended stay facilities help world wanderers be more productive on the road and more ready to work in the morning. Here are some things to look for when selecting an extended stay facility for your next trip.

-- Does it have a full-sized kitchen? One of the main advantages an extended stay place has over a hotel is that residents may cook all three meals in the comfort of their own "temporary home," thereby saving lots of money and perhaps even calories! But not all kitchens are created equal: some extended stay facilities merely offer kitchenettes that are awkward and not at all easy to use. Look for one that has a full-sized kitchen complete with regular appliances as well as all other necessary accoutrements.

-- Because you will no doubt need access to the internet for work or to keep in touch with everyone at home, choose a place that offers free wifi for its residents: it's amazing how many extended stay facilities nickel and dime their guests.

-- You'll need to look sharp at all times, so select housing that has in-unit washers and dryers. You have too much to do to bother with babysitting your laundry room in a downstairs facility: it is much more convenient and pleasant to have these appliances at your beck and call any time of the day.

-- Not all places have 24-hour concierge service. When living in an unfamiliar location, you'll want to have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can get help, even in the middle of the night if necessary.
